The church with a heart!

Thank you for visiting our web page and giving us an opportunity to introduce what we consider “a vine of God’s own planting”.

NAME BAPTIST CHURCH opened its doors for our first service on Sunday, June 29, 1997. We began that Sunday offering a fully graded Sunday School with classes for all ages, an exciting Morning Service, and an Evening Service. We had our first Wednesday evening Prayer, Praise and Bible Study that week as well.

God has blessed this ministry in so many ways! We have experienced continued growth necessitating additions to our present campus. Our latest addition was our new Sanctuary that more than doubled our seating capacity.
It is our prayer and sincere desire that Jesus Christ have the preeminence in all things! We want to be a lighthouse and a soul-winning ministry!

To God be the glory – Great things He has done!

The name of this church shall be NAME BAPTIST CHURCH.

Purpose

  2. Edify the Saints in preaching, teaching, singing and fellowship around the word of God.
  3. Evangelize the sinner based on biblical principles.
  4. This church is also to administer the ordinances, the Lord’s Supper and water baptism; and to provide a place of worship, fellowship and service for all believers.

Character

This church shall be an independent, sovereign, self-governing body of believers, subject to the control of no other ecclesiastical body or organization. This church shall maintain a separatist position towards all modernistic and unbiblical organizations and ecclesiastical groups. This church shall however, recognize and fellowship with churches of like faith and practice.

Church Covenant

Having been led by the Holy Spirit to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and on the public confession of our faith, having been immersed in the name the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another. As we are one body in Christ, we shall be one in this local assembly.

We purpose, therefore, by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the growth of this church in all knowledge, holiness, service and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to attend services regularly; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrines; to give it a pre-eminence over all institutions of human origin; to give faithfully of time and talents in its activities; to give cheerfully as God has prospered us, to the support of the ministry, the expense of the church, aid to the brethren, and the spread of the gospel throughout all nations by supporting missions and missionaries directly.

We also purpose to maintain family and private devotions; to train our children according to the word of God; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our conduct; to avoid all gossip, backbiting and unrighteous anger; to abstain from all forms of fleshly or worldly activity which dishonor our Lord Jesus Christ, cause a fellow believer to stumble or hinder the winning of a soul to Christ; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the cause of Christ, our Saviour, and to give him pre-eminence in all things.

We further purpose to encourage one another in the blessed hope of our Lord’s return; to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to maintain Christian compassion and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, mindful of the commandments of our Saviour.

We moreover purpose that when we remove from this place we will as soon as possible unite with some other church of like faith and order where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s word. In the event there is no such church, we shall seek, with the Lord’s help, to establish one.

About NAME BAPTIST CHURCH

We strive to live the fullness of Christ’s life and to fulfill the Great Commission locally and worldwide through our local assembly of believers by wholly depending on God’s Word and by fully depending on the Lord’s Spirit.

“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” ~ Ephesians 4:13

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” ~ Acts 1:8

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” ~ John 4:24

Our Mission at NAME BAPTIST CHURCH

We strive to live the fullness of Christ’s life and to fulfill the Great Commission locally and worldwide through our local assembly of believers by wholly depending on God’s Word and by fully depending on the Lord’s Spirit.

Here’s a few facts about our local church.

To please and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ through:

  • Old time gospel singing (not modern or contemporary music)
  • Straight-forward Bible preaching and teaching
  • Telling others the wonderful story of how Jesus Christ died for their sins

Evangelize the sinner through:

  • Weekly outreach
  • Public ministry – Street evangelization
  • Jail and correctional facilities
  • Nursing home ministry
  • Sacrificial giving to support worldwide missionaries

Edify the saints through:

  • Regular Sunday school and teaching classes
  • Preaching services
  • Hospital and nursing home visits

With the forceful current of constant change sweeping over every part of our lives, people have the need to connect with something enduring and firm. We believe Christ designed the church to fulfill that need by representing an eternal kingdom and ageless truth with no need to imitate the culture. We want you to know that there is still a church that feels like a church. It won’t feel like a rock concert, comedy club, or motivational seminar. It’s not old-fashioned, as in 50 years ago; it is timeless, as in 2,000 years ago.

Doctrine

(A) The Holy Scriptures

By the Holy Bible we mean that collection of sixty-six books from Genesis to Revelation. We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenarily inspired word of God, inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore are the final revelation from God to mankind and so are the supreme authority in all matters of faith, practice, and conduct. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning.
By inspiration we mean that the books of the Bible were written by holy men of old, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, in such a definite way that their writings were supernaturally and verbally inspired and free from error, as no other writings have been or ever will be inspired.

As to the matter of Bible translation, we believe that God has given His divine approval to the Authorized King James Version for the English speaking people and that it has been divinely preserved, free from error to this very hour, with no previous or subsequent translation coming close to it in accuracy or beauty of language. The King James Version shall be the official and only translation used by Bible Baptist Church and all of its Pastors, teachers, or Sunday School teachers and any visiting preacher or speaker while using the pulpit or properties of Bible Baptist Church. (I Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; John 5:39; II Peter 1:19-21; Proverbs 30:5,6; Revelation 22:18,19; Psalm 119:89; Psalm 12:6,7; Isaiah 40:8)

(B) The Godhead.

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfection. (Genesis 1:26; II Corinthians 13:14; Deut. 6:4; I John 5:7; Matthew 28:19)

God the Father
.

We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, boundless in Love, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayers, and that He saves from sin and eternal death all who come to Him though Jesus Christ, His Son. (Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:2,3; Deut. 4:35; Isaiah 45:6,18; Isaiah 46:9; Matthew 3:16,17; I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 1:3-10; Ephesians 4:3-6)

God the Son.

We believe in God the Son, Jesus Christ, pre-existent with the Father, begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary: that He became man without ceasing to be God, that His mission was to reveal the Father and to reconcile man by His substitutionary atonement for the sins of mankind by His death on the cross. We believe in His sinless nature and life, that His teachings are infallible and without error. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension to Heaven, His perpetual intercession for His people and His glorious second advent according to promise. (Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6; Daniel 3:25; Jude 14,15; Matthew 1:18-25; Matthew 28:6; Luke 1:35; Rev. 20:2-6; John 1:1,2,14; John 8:56; John 14:3,9; I Peter 2:22 II Cor. 5:19; Galatians 4:4,5; I Thess. 4:16-18)

God the Holy Spirit
.

We believe in the full deity and the personality of the Holy Spirit and that He was sent to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. We furthermore believe that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ at the moment of salvation and indwells, comforts, convicts, and seals the believer unto the day of redemption. (John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14)

(C) Spiritual Gifts
.

We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing, were temporary signs to the unbelieving Jew. We believe the”sign gifts” are no longer in effect. We believe that speaking in tongues was never the common or necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit and that ultimate deliverance of the body from sickness or death awaits the consummation of our salvation in the resurrection, though God frequently chooses to answer the prayers of believers for physical healing. (1 Cor. 1:22; 13:8; 14:21,22)

(D) The Personality of Satan.

We believe that Satan is a real person, who though having been created in a state of perfection and enjoying a heavenly abode with God, through pride lost his original state and led a rebellion of other angels in his revolt, and that he is the author of sin and the cause of the Fall of Man. We believe he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; that he is disguised as an angel of light; and that he shall be eternally punished in the lake of Fire. (1 Chron. 21:1; Job 1:6-12; Isaiah 14:12-17; Rev. 12:3,4; Ezek. 28:12-15; 2 Cor 11:14; Matt. 4:2-11; Rev. 20:1-3, 10)

(E) Dispensationalism
.

We believe that the Scriptures interpreted in their natural, literal sense reveal divinely determined dispensations or rules of life which define man’s responsibilities in successive ages. These dispensations are not various ways of salvation, but rather are divinely ordered stewardships by which God directs man according to His purpose. Three of these dispensations–the law, the church, and the kingdom–are the subjects of detailed revelation in Scripture. (Genesis 1:28; 1 Cor. 9:17; 2 Cor. 3:9-18; Galatians 3:13-25; Ephesians 1:10; 3:2-10; Colossians 1:24-27; Rev. 20:2-6)

(F) The Total Depravity of Man.

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom.3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Eph. 2; 1-3; 4:17-19)

(G) Salvation.

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ’s substitutionary death on the cross, His burial, and His resurrection from the dead, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (John 1:12, Eph. 1:7; 2:8-10; 1Pet. 1:18-19)

(H) Repentance and Faith
.

We believe that repentance and faith are solemn obligations and also inseparable graces wrought in our souls by the quickening Spirit of God; thereby, being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger, and helplessness, and of the way of salvation of Christ, we turn to God from our sin with unfeigned contrition, confession, and supplication for mercy–at the same time receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our only all-sufficient Saviour.

(I) The Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers
.

We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Rom. 8:1, 38-39; 1 Cor. 1:4-8; 1 Pet.1:4-5)

We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word, which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian Liberty as an occasion to the flesh. (Rom. 13:13-14; Gal. 5:13; Titus 2:11-15)

(J) The Local Church
.

We believe that the local church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel, observing the ordinances of Jesus Christ, governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word. (1 Cor.12:12-14; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 1:22-23; 5:25-27)

We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures. (Mt.16:18, Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; 1 Tim. 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11)

We believe in the autonomy of the local church; that it has the absolute right of self-government, free from any interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations; that the one and only superintendent is the Lord Jesus Christ; and that in all matters of membership, policy, government, discipline, and benevolence, the will of the local church is final. (Acts 13:1-4; 15:19-31; 20:28; Rom. 16:1,4; 1 Cor. 3:9, 16; 5:4-7, 13: 1 Peter 5:1-4)

We recognize water baptism and the Lord’s Supper as the only Scriptural ordinances of obedience for the church in this age. Further we believe that water baptism is only by immersion and confers upon the recipient no saving grace but rather it is a solemn and beautiful emblem of faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Saviour and that it (baptism) is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and access to the Lord’s Supper. Further, we believe the Lord’s Supper does not involve transubstantiation and that it does not confer saving grace to the recipient but rather is a commemoration of the members of the local church of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; 1 Cor. 11:23-26)

(K) Separation
.

We believe that all saved should live in a such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord; and that separation from all religious apostasy, worldly and sinful pleasures is commanded by God and includes but is not limited to : Membership in Secret Lodges, Involvement in New Age philosophies. the KKK and all other racist organizations,  and Ministerial Associations. (Amos 3:3; Rom. 12:1-2; 14:13; 2 Cor. 6:14-7:1; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 9-11)

(L) The Second Advent of Christ.

We believe in that “blessed hope,” the personal imminent return of Christ Who will rapture His church prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom which was promised to the nation of Israel. (Ps. 89:3-4; Dan. 2:31-45; Zech. 14:4-11; 1 Thess. 1:10: 1 Thess 4: 12-14; Titus 2:13; Rev. 3:10; 19:11-16; 20:1-6)

(M) The Eternal State.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgement and everlasting punishment. (Matt 25:46; John 5:28,29; 11:25,26; Rev. 20:1-6)

We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord. (Luke 23:43; 2 Cor. 5:8; Phil 1:23; 3:21; 1 Thess 4:16-17; Rev. 20:4-6)

We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain, after death, in conscious punishment and torment by fire until the second resurrection, when with soul and body reunited they shall appear at the Great White Throne Judgement, and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment and torment. We believe the fire spoken of in the Bible to be a real literal flame that burns yet does not consume. (Matt 25:41-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; 2 Thess. 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Rev. 20:11-15)

(N) Creation
.

We believe in the Genesis account of creation and that it is to be accepted literally, not allegorically or figuratively; that man was created directly in God’ image and after His own likeness; that man’s creation was not a matter of evolution or evolutionary change of species, or developments through interminable periods of time from lower to higher life forms. We reject not only evolution, but also the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as being unscriptural theories of origin. (Genesis 1-2; Ex 20:11)

(O) Civil Government
.

We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: 1) The home; 2) The church; and 3) The state. Every person is subject to these authorities, but all (including the authorities themselves) are answerable to God and governed by His Word. God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other. The home, the church, and the state are equal and sovereign in their respective Biblically assigned spheres of responsibility under God. (Rom. 13:1-7; Eph 5:22-24; Heb. 13:17; 1 Pet. 2:13-14)

(P) Human Sexuality
.

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. Any employee of the church becoming pregnant or causing pregnancy as a result of consensual intercourse, outside of marriage relationship, shall be terminated from employment. (Gen. 2:24; Gen. 19:5, 13; 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1:26-29; 1 Cor. 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:40)

We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor. 7:10; Eph. 5:22,23)

(Q) Divorce and Remarriage
.

We believe that God hates divorce and intends marriage to last until one of the spouses dies. Although divorced and remarried persons or divorced persons may hold positions of service in the church and be greatly used of God for Christian service, they may not be considered for the offices of pastor or deacon. (Mal. 2:14-17; Matt. 19:3-12; Rom. 7:1-3; 1 Tim. 3:2, 12; Titus 1:6)

(R) Abortion
.

We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teachings that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable. (Job 3:16; Psalms 51:5; 139:14-16; Isa. 44:24; 49:1,5; Jer. 1:5; 20:15-18; Luke 1:44)

Authority of Statement of Faith

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that the foregoing statement of faith accurately represents the teaching of the Bible, and therefore, is binding upon all members. All literature used in the church shall be in essential agreement with the statement of faith.

The Trinity
:

We believe there is one God manifest in three persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.

The Bible
:

We believe the bible to perfect, infallible, divinely inspired, pleanary Word of God. It is preserved perfectly in the KJV 1611 King James Bible for English speaking people. We use and support no other English version. The bible is our final authority for all faith and practice. We make every endeavor to correctly understand its teaching and seek to implement its precepts and principles in our lives.

Creation
:

We believe God created all things in six literal days and rested on the seventh day as recorded in the Genesis account. We reject all forms of Darwinian evolution.

The Fall of Man
:

Man was created in the image and likeness of God and made to have dominion over the earth. Man sinned against God by disobeying God and eating the forbidden fruit and through that sin Adam died and death passed upon all men.

Salvation
:

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. He died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day for our justification. Salvation is received as a free gift by the individual who truly repents and accepts the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Baptism by Immersion:

We believe that believers should be immersed in water after being saved. Such believer’s baptism is an ordinance but is not a means of grace. (Acts 8:36-40)

Pre-Tribulational Rapture and Millennial Reign of Christ
:

We believe in a pre-millennial translation or rapture of the Church. This event is described in 1Thessalonians 4:13-18. After the seven year tribulation period, Christ will reign on this earth for a thousand glorious years.

Gifts and Tongues
:

We do not believe in the modern day gifts of tongues and prophecies, etc. We believe the early church had these gifts but they vanished away as stated in 1Corinthians 13:8-13.

Whosoever-Will Gospel
:

We believe that Jesus tasted death for every man and is not willing that any should perish but that all would come to a knowledge of the truth. Yet, God will not violate the will of an individual but will use the preaching of the Gospel and most importantly the convicting power of the Holy Spirit to bring souls to Himself. We do not believe in the TULIP doctrines of Calvinism nor are we Armenian.

Eternal Security of the Believer
:

We believe an individual is saved eternally when he is truly born again. The Holy Spirit is given as a seal unto the day of redemption. The seed, the Word of God by which an individual is saved will remain in him forever.

Separation:

We believe that the saints should be separate from the world as pilgrims and sojourners. Those, who are saved, should live holy, Spirit filled lives that bring glory and honor to our Savior and in no way brings reproach upon the Gospel.

Evangelism
:

We believe the church has been commissioned by our Lord to take the Gospel into all the world. We have this duty and responsibility to witness to those at home and support missionaries so they can take the Gospel where we cannot.

Marriage
:

We believe marriage was ordained by God to be the union of one man and one woman till they are separated by death. Sexual relations except between a husband and wife are sinful. God condemns all acts of fornication, adultery, homosexuality, bestiality and any other form of perversion. God can and will forgive and individual of these sins when they are truly repentant and come to Him for forgiveness.

We are an old-fashioned Independent, Bible-believing Baptist Church. We believe that God’s Word has the answer to all of life’s problems and is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. The Bible tells us we can know how to get to Heaven and how to live a Biblically prosperous and successful life until we arrive there. A day of confusion and instability reigns in our country, and yet God has given us His Word as a guide in these times. The Word of God instructs us personally as individuals in the husband-wife relationship, and in the parent-child relationship to make our homes a little heaven on earth.

We call ourselves old-fashioned because we still attempt to live our lives according to the Bible. At our church you will find normal people with normal imperfections. You will also find friendly people who care. We are committed to help people of every age find the peace that only God can provide. This is the ministry the Lord Jesus Christ has given to us. We long for you to know Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and for you to be involved in a church home that cares for you. You are always welcome to visit us for our services!

Beliefs

GOD

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

We believe in the deity of Christ; in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the Cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into Heaven and His presence at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person; equal with God the Father, the Son and the same nature; that He was active in the creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world, He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled. He convicts of sin, judgment and righteousness; that He seals, endures, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer. The Holy Spirit fills the believer; empowering him for soul-winning service. We believe that present day tongues speaking is not a viable gift for this present age.

SCRIPTURE
We believe the Bible to be the revealed Word of God. We believe the Word of God is verbally and plenarily inspired in the original writings, and that God has preserved His pure words to every generation (II Timothy 3:16, Psalms 12:6-8). We believe the Word of God to be inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed, as found within the 66 books from Genesis to Revelation. The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use. We believe the King James Version is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people (Psalm 12:6-7; II Timothy 3:15-17; I Peter 1:23-25; II Peter 1:19-21). The Bible is our sole and final authority for faith and practice.

MAN
We believe that men and women were created in the image of God, and that because of the sin of our common ancestor, Adam, we are born with an inherited sin nature. We believe that because of this nature, men and women are sinners by choice, are both physically and spiritually dead, and are totally incapable of reforming or ceasing from sin by their own power. They are thus separated from God.

SALVATION
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for the salvation of lost and sinful men and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential.

We believe that repentance and faith are solemn obligations and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the quickening Spirit of God. Therefore, being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger and helplessness and of the way of salvation by Christ, we turn to God with unfeigned contrition, confession and supplication for mercy at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ and openly confessing Him as our only and all sufficient Savior.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that the saved are saved unto the resurrection of life and the lost are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

BIBLICAL SEPARATION
We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord; and, that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God (II Timothy 3:1-5; Romans 12:1, 2, 14:13; I John 2:15-17; II John 9-11; II Corinthians 6:14-7:1).

CHRIST’S RETURN
We believe the “Blessed Hope” of our Lord’s return is literal, personal, visible, imminent, premillennial, and pretribulational. Believers will be caught up to be with the Lord prior to the seven years of tribulation, and at the end of the tribulation Christ will return with His saints to establish His thousand-year reign on the earth (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6; Psalm 89:3-4).

We are an independent fundamental Baptist church that uses the King James Version of the Bible. We believe in strong Bible centered preaching, old fashioned singing, soul-winning and Biblical separation from the world. There are many different types of churches in our country today and even many kinds of Baptist churches for people to choose from. Let’s take a look at our kind of Baptist church.

Independent means we are a local church with no denominational ties. Every decision is made in our local church. We believe in pastoral authority where the pastor leads the church in matters of faith and practice. When it comes to the preaching of the Bible, or who speaks for special meetings, the pastor is the one who makes those decisions. When it comes to finances and the physical operation of the church, we decide on those things as a church family. All of our missionaries are chosen by the church and all money sent out of the church is designated by our people.

Fundamental means we believe in the fundamentals of the faith. These are foundational truths that are the bedrock of our beliefs.

There are five fundamentals:
1. The inerrancy of the Bible – We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God without errors and is preserved in the English language through the King James Bible.
2. The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus Christ is God and has always existed as the second person of the Trinity.
3. The Virgin Birth – We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and did not have an earthly father. This means that Jesus was born without a sin nature and was the Lamb of God without spot or blemish.
4. The blood atonement – We believe that Jesus Christ died on a cross and paid for our sins with His shed blood. He lived a perfect life and died a sacrificial death to purchase our salvation.
5. The bodily resurrection – We believe that when Jesus died and was buried that He arose from the grave on the third day and because of His resurrection, we also will be raised from the dead in the last days.

Baptist means that we identify with Baptist distinctives that have endured throughout the ages and can be traced back to the beginning of the church. The Baptists were never a part of the protestant movement and have beliefs that differ from most protestant churches today. We use an acrostic to define those distinctives.

B is for Bible, our only authority for faith and practice.
A is for Autonomy, the independence of the local church.
P is for Priesthood, the position of all believers that we have personal access to God through Jesus Christ.
T is for Two Ordinances, Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper
I is for Individual Soul Liberty
S is for Saved & Baptized Church Membership
T is for Two Offices in the church, the pastor and deacon
S is for the Separation of Church and State

We use the King James Version of the Bible in all of our services and activities. We believe it is the preserved and inspired Word of God for English speaking people. We also believe in the Great Commission to evangelize the world both at home and abroad. We preach and teach the whole Bible, not just the parts that are popular or accepted in our world today. We believe that salvation begins the process of a believer being changed into the image of God. Christians that are growing ought to look and act differently than the unsaved world. We are commanded to be the light and salt of the earth. We are not better than anyone, just different by design. If you are interested in all of our beliefs, we will be happy to send you a copy of our statement of faith and church constitution.

We accept the Holy Scriptures contained in the Old and New Testaments as being the verbally inspired Word of God and being perfectly preserved in the King James 1611 Bible. We do not believe it can be corrected or improved upon in any way. It is the final rule of faith and practice.

We believe in the triune God, who is eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Christ – His virgin birth, His sinless life, His death for the sins of the world, His bodily resurrection, His exaltation at God’s right hand, His personal, imminent and pre-millennial return.

We believe all men are sinners and are guilty before God; in need of a Savior.

We believe that men are born again through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ; that they become the children of God, eternally saved: that the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer to guide and help him in his testimony and service.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved in Glory, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in hell. We believe that all believers have a responsibility to get the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ into all the world.

We are a Baptist church, which means we hold to the basic Baptist doctrine. We are not charismatic. We do not practice speaking in tongues, faith healing, or believe in extra biblical revelation through visions or dreams.

We are a Bible-believing Baptist church which means we believe the scriptures are without error and that God has preserved a copy for us that is inspired and infallible. We believe these “Holy Scriptures” have been preserved in the English
Authorized King James Version.

We are an independent Baptist church which means we are not affiliated or controlled by any denominational head or church hierarchy. We choose our own missionaries we will support as well as our church leadership. Our pastor, Bobby Utley, has
been at New Testament 48 years.

1. HOLY BIBLE AV1611 KING JAMES BIBLE
We believe that God has verbally inspired 66 books of Holy Scripture – 39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament books. We believe, further, that the God who was powerful enough to INSPIRE (2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness) these books is powerful enough to PRESERVE (Psalms 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.) them in the form in which he intended us to have them in these last days. This “form” is the King James Authorized Version, to the exclusion of ALL other English translations aka “perversions.”

2. JESUS CHRIST
We believe that the testimony of these scriptures clearly indicates that Jesus Christ was God manifest in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.) born of a virgin. He suffered a vicarious, substitutionary death on the cross which atoned for the sins of the world, that he was buried Wednesday afternoon, and arose from the dead sometime after 6 p.m. Saturday night. He arose BODILY and literally from the grave, thereby insuring two things – a resurrection FROM the dead for those who believe on him and receive him as their Saviour and a resurrection OF the unsaved dead at the last judgment.

3. HEAVEN/HELL
Heaven, for the SAVED, is a literal New Jerusalem supernaturally built; Hell, for the LOST, is a literal lake of fire which torments forever. Luke 16

4. NEW TESTAMENT
We believe that Jesus has ascended to and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He sent the Holy Ghost, at Pentecost, to represent him on the earth in this dispensation. Although this dispensation began shortly after his resurrection, the gospel of the grace of God was not revealed until the ministry of the Apostle Paul; the book of the Acts is a transitional book giving the history of the apostolic times, and the SIGNS and WONDERS in it (as in Mark 16 and 2 Corinthians 12:12) are limited to the ministry of the apostles and not to be confused with the Christian doctrines of Colossians and Ephesians and Philippians.

5. SALVATION
We believe that salvation is “by grace through faith” (Eph. 2:8,9) in the finished work of Jesus Christ and “not by works of righteousness which we have done” (Titus 3:5). We believe when a person is saved, he is saved from the penalty of sin which is a literal burning hell (Psa. 9:17; Luke 16). We further believe in the eternal security of the child of God, that no Christian is in danger of losing his or her salvation (Rom. 8:38, 39; John 10:28).

6. CHURCH ORDINANCES
We believe in baptism (by immersion) and the Lord’s supper as the only two scriptural ordinances. The one real baptism is Spirit, and WATER baptism is only a FIGURE, or picture, of this real baptism. We believe a person should be baptized after he or she has been saved (Acts 8) and that the Lord’s supper is for all who have been born again (1 Cor. 11).

7. THE “CHURCH”
We believe in two scriptural uses of the word church (i.e. body of all believers, local body of believers). We believe all people who have been born again are a part of “the church, which is his body,” and therefore they should join an autonomous local church. Furthermore, we believe the biblical church to be a King James Bible believing church.

8. SECOND COMING
We believe that the Lord Jesus is to return literally and bodily from heaven to set up a 1000-year, Davidic, Palestinian, earthly, visible kingdom at Jerusalem, and seven years before this advent, he will catch out his body – the true church – and judge it at the “Judgment Seat of Christ.”

9. BAPTIST DOCTRINE
We are Baptist in doctrine and traditional in music, worship and preaching. We are anti-Calvinistic and dispensational in theology. We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to rapture all believers (1 Thess. 4:13-18) before the great tribulation. We also believe in the pre-millennial return of Christ to the earth (Rev.19,20).

Missions

Our Missions program is a vital part of our church ministry. In order to fulfill the great commission, we must be witnesses both at home and abroad. Our missionaries are an extension of our church and allow us to accomplish God’s command. We love our missionaries and pray for them daily.

The Missionaries of NAME BAPTIST CHURCH:

Our church is actively involved in supporting mission works in the United States
and around the world. Matthew 28:18-20 tells us to go and “Teach All Nations.”
We believe it is our responsibility to bring the gospel to our local community, and
send other qualified men to preach the gospel around the world.
We believe that
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. And, How shall they hear
 without a preacher? (Romans 10:13-17).

NAME BAPTIST CHURCH is involved in several missions that we would love for you to be a part of.

Along with supporting missionaries around the world, we also have several outreach programs right here in the United States and our own community.

We visit and support churches in West Virginia, where we hold Bible Schools and tent meetings during the year. We also travel each summer to Charleston, WV and help all week printing Gospel Tracks.

God has opened many doors for us to carry the Gospel outside the four walls of our church building.

We want to invite you to join with us as we lift up the precious name of Jesus to a lost and dying world.

Below, you will find the names of all the missionaries and organizations we support on a monthly basis to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

From the very beginning years of Faith Baptist Church, we have had the joy of supporting missionaries with our prayers and financial giving.

In November 2002 for five special days during our first Faith Promise Missionary Conference, Dr. John Halsey challenged Faith Baptist Church toward greater giving to missions through faith promise.

Each year since we have had the joy of hosting a special speaker and missionaries for our Faith Promise Missionary Conference, held each year in the fall.

God has continued to abundantly bless NAME BAPTIST CHURCH in our giving to missions, and we presently support over 40 missionaries and many soul winning/discipleship outreaches:

Salvation

IF YOU DIED TONIGHT WOULD YOU BE IN HEAVEN OR HELL?

HEBREWS 9:27 Says:
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

The Bible Says
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life,…”
(I John 5:13) God wants us all to know that we can go to Heaven, but if we expect to get there we must go His way.

We Are All Sinners
What does God’s Word teach about this all important subject? First of all, we are all sinners. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23) Because of our sin we are under sin’s penalty, which is death. “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23) This penalty means eternal separation from God in hell.

Christ Died For Our Sins
God does not want anyone to go to hell, so He sent His only begotten Son to die and pay the penalty for our sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

Eternal Life is God’s Gift
God’s love for us is so great that He made a way for our sins to be forgiven. He offers His forgiveness and salvation freely. “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Please note that eternal life is offered to you as a gift. But like all gifts, it is not yours until you receive it. To receive Christ is to receive life – eternal life, a home in Heaven.

How to Receive Christ
Here is how you may receive Christ: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9) You must believe with all your heart, and call on the Lord to save you. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

You Must Repent
“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:” (Acts 17:30) To repent literally means to have a change of mind (or spirit) toward God and toward sin. It means to turn from your sins, earnestly, with all your heart, and trust in Jesus Christ to save you. You can see, then, how the man who believes in Christ repents and the man who repents believes in Christ. The jailer repented when he turned from sin to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Call On the Lord Now
So you may know for sure that you are going to Heaven, be truthful and make this prayer your prayer to God:

“Dear Jesus, please have mercy upon me, a sinner. Please forgive me of all my sins. I believe You died on the cross for me, and I believe that it’s your blood that washes my sins away. I believe You were buried and that God raised You on the third day. Now will you please come in my heart and save my soul? Thank You for saving me Jesus.”

Now, promise Him that with His help you will be true to Him the rest of your days. For further information, please contact us.

If you died right now, are you 100% sure that you would go to Heaven?

YOU CAN BE SURE! Please read below to find out how!

There are basically four things you need to know from the Bible to have the assurance that when you die, you will go to Heaven.

1. EVERYONE IS A SINNER
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” The reason that we “come short” of God’s glory is because we are sinners, because “All have sinned…” “All” includes you and I. In order to be saved, you must first agree with the Bible that you are a sinner.

2. EVERYONE OWES A SIN DEBT
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The “wages of sin” are the eternal punishments of Hell, and eternal separation from God.

3. EVERYONE’S SIN DEBT HAS BEEN PAID BY CHRIST
II Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him (Jesus Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” God treated His Son like a sinner so that we as sinners could become His sons. John 1:12 says, “But as many as received him (Jesus Christ), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

4. EVERYONE CAN BE SAVED
Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”.

If you believe Jesus died for you and rose again, you can call on Him right now to pardon you from sin and Hell and give you a home in Heaven.

If, after reading this, you have made a decision to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, or would like to know how, please contact us. We’d love to hear from you!

You CAN know for SURE that heaven is your home!!!!!

-1 John 5:13 – These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

There are three things you must know and understand and only one thing you must do in order to be saved.

1. Realize that you are a sinner
-Romans 3:23 – For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
We are ALL sinners, and because of that, we fall short of the perfection required for heaven.

2. Realize there is a penalty for your sin
-Romans 6:23a – For the wages of sin is death….
A “wage” is an earning. If you have a job, you earn a wage. So, the Bible is telling us, that because of our sin, we owe the penalty of death. Certainly physical death, but more specifically, eternal death or as the Bible words it, “The Second Death”.

-Revelation 21:8 – But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake of fire which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

3. Realize the payment for your sin has already been paid
Romans 5:8 – But God commendeth His love toward US, in that, while WE were yet sinners, Christ died for US.

When Jesus died on the cross, He died for your sins. He has already paid the penalty required for your sin. He was buried, and three days later he arose with eternal victory over death, hell and the grave.

You do not have to pay for your sins……………IF, you will do the ONE thing required of you……

4. Receive Christ as YOUR Saviour
-John 1:12 – But as many as RECEIVED Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.

-Romans 10:13 – For whosoever shall CALL upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

You can be saved right now, by genuinely turning to Christ and asking Him to forgive you and to save your soul.

If you would like to be saved, pray something similar to this:

“Dear God, I know that I am a sinner, and that according to your Word, I deserve hell for my sin. But I believe that Jesus died for me and rose again the third day. Right now, I am asking Jesus to forgive me of my sin and to save my soul. I am trusting completely in Christ for my salvation.”

If you just prayed that prayer and genuinely meant it from your heart, God says that you now have ETERNAL LIFE. You are saved!

Please let us know if you have trusted Jesus as your Saviour.

Do You have the Hope of Eternal Life…

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” (John 3:6)

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24)

What Does It Mean To Be Born Again?

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12)

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” (Romans 8:14-16)

What Must I “Do” To Be Born Again?

1). Recognize that YOU are a sinner.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)

“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Genesis 6:5)

“Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” (Psalm 53:3)

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6)

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8-9)

2). Recognize that the PRICE for sin is DEATH.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12)

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” (Hebrews 9:22)

3). Recognize that YOU cannot “do” anything to save yourself.

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” (Titus 3:5)

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9))

4). Recognize that JESUS has done the work for you.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,” (Revelation 1:5)

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (Hebrews 1:3)

5). Believe on Jesus Christ to SAVE you.

“…Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:30-31)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18)

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” (Ephesians 1:7)

True Biblical repentance involves a willingness in your heart to turn from the sin that is hindering you from accepting Christ as your personal Saviour.

“For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.” (Psalm 38:18)

“…repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Acts 20:21b)

We must realize that God the Holy Spirit reproves or convicts us of our sinful lost condition. Is God speaking to you my friend?

“And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (John 16:8)

It is when the Holy Spirit is dealing with you that God is extending His mercy for you to be born again. No one has ever been saved without being convicted by the Holy Spirit. Conviction is God letting you know you are a sinner under the wrath of God with no hope without Jesus Christ.

“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” (John 12:32)

“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:44)

The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to reveal the truth about the consequences of our sin and gives us hope of a Saviour.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

You might think that this seems too simple to be true, however that is how God planned for it to be. Salvation is God’s gift to man and therefore HE alone makes the rules. Many people have been deceived by false religions that have taught them that they have to “earn” their way to heaven by man-made rules and doctrines. These cannot save you nor can they pay the price for sin. Sin is a personal offense before God and He requires the shedding of blood. However, in His love and grace He made a way to pay the price of death through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you can earn your way out of hell or that your church, priest, baptism, sacraments, penance, or any other thing can save you. All those things are a trick of the Devil to keep you from trusting in the ONE thing that can save you.

“In whom the god of this world [that is, the devil] hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (2 Corinthians 4:4)

The Gospel is SIMPLY this: You are a sinner bound for an eternal hell, but Jesus paid the price for your sin at Calvary (He died, was buried, and rose again victorious over death and hell on the 3rd day) and if you will put your faith and trust in HIM alone YOU CAN BE SAVED!

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Cor 11:3)

Don’t Be Fooled… Trust in Jesus Today!

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour please contact us so that we may rejoice with you and help you in your journey to live for God!

Our Pastor

PASTOR FARMER CALLED TO OPEN DOOR

On December 23, 2012, the Open Door Bible Baptist Church called Derek Farmer as its pastor. Pastor Farmer, his wife Elaine, and daughter Caroline came to Goose Creek from Hendersonville, NC where they had been working within the ministry of the Progress Baptist Church under Pastor Doug Raynes. While at Progress, Pastor Farmer did the work of an Evangelist as he waited for the next step within the Lord’s perfect plan for he and his family.

TESTIMONY

Pastor Farmer trusted Christ as his personal savior on September 14, 1978 as an 11 year old boy. Having been raised in church and in a christian home, he was quite familiar with the gospel story. Pastor Farmer was indeed blessed to have been raised by parents who loved him dearly, yet loved Jesus even more. Every church service found him sitting on the pew next to his family while his uncle, Pastor Eddie Calloway, preached the Word of God. It was while a member at Sugar Grove Bible Baptist Church that Pastor Farmer was called to preach on December 23, 1984.

After graduation from a Christian high school in 1986, Pastor Farmer attended Tabernacle Baptist Bible College for a period of time. It was while at Tabernacle that he came in contact with Pastor Larry K. Raynes who informed him of a church that was being planted in Pastor Farmer’s home state of Kentucky. Within a short time, Pastor Farmer returned to Kentucky to become a charter member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church under the ministry of Pastor J. Dale Massengale.

Having prayed for a wife for a number of years, the Lord sent him his wife, Elaine, while she was attending Bob Jones University and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Taylors, SC where Dr. Larry K. Raynes was her pastor. They were married on May 5, 1990. In the years to follow, the Lord would give them twin sons, Randy and Will, another son, Matthew, and a daughter, Caroline.

Pastor Farmer would eventually spend most of the next 25 years working and learning under the ministry of Pastor Massengale and Pleasant View Baptist Church in McQuady, KY. Of those 25 years, Pastor Farmer spent 5 years in the state of Wyoming planting a church; he served as the Principal/Administrator of Pleasant View Baptist School for nearly 13 years, and taught the adult Sunday School class for about 20 years.

Pastor Farmer is thoroughly convinced that the Lord put three pastors in his life (Pastor Eddie Calloway, Pastor J. Dale Massengale, and Pastor Doug Raynes) to prepare him for the purpose of God which he is seeking to fulfill today.

At the young age of eleven years old, I gave my life to Jesus Christ in a small Baptist Church out in the country. Over the next few years I learned more and more about my Savior, Jesus Christ! While attending Bible Summer Camp, at the age of sixteen, I heard a sermon preached on the scripture, Philippians 1:21 “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”. At the conclusion of that sermon I told God I would truly live for Him. Little did I know that God had great plans for my life. It was about six months after praying that prayer, that I knew without any doubt that God was calling me to be a preacher. Over the next few years I served the Lord with ups and downs, and preached whenever I was given an opportunity. On May 13th, eighteen days before my twenty-first birthday, I married my high school sweetheart Kristen Daniels. Not only did we attend the same high school, our families also attended the same church! After our marriage, Kristen and I moved about an hour and a half away to Greenville, NC where I served as a Youth Pastor. Three years had passed by, when we received word that the small church we grew up in lost their Pastor, and was quickly going under. This news deeply impacted my life. I was broken for the members of that church. However, on a much greater scale, I was broken for the community that was losing a good church.
After months of prayer and fasting, my wife and I knew what God wanted us to do. We saved up some money, rented a store front property, and on March 30th, 2010 Legacy Baptist Church opened the doors! Before we knew what happened, God had used us to start an Independent, Fundamental, Soul Winning, Bible Preaching Church! After only eight months, God provided us with our current property, which we now own free and clear. On April 22, 2011, God gave us a beautiful son, William. Our vision was and still is to have a local New Testament Church with true genuine worship.

Pastor Mike Qualls and his wife, Carol, came to Lakeland Baptist Church in March of 2015. They, along with their two youngest sons Aaron and Isaac, bring over 25 years of ministry experience to the church.

Saved at the age of 7 years old at Bethel Baptist Church in Denton, NC, the Lord has used great men to influence his life. From the likes of Lester Roloff, Oliver B. Green, Joe Parsons, Buck Huntley, and many others, they stirred Pastor Qualls to hunger for a closer walk with God.

Pastor Qualls launched his ministry by holding services in various rest homes and retirement centers for about four years. He would later serve two churches as their pastor….the Resurrection Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC and the New Lighthouse Baptist Church in Windsor, NC. After nine years in the pastorate, the Lord led him to do the work of an evangelist. Over the next 13 years, he crisscrossed the country preaching revival meetings, youth camps, tent revivals, and special services.

Although the Lord still uses Pastor Qualls to preach revival meetings throughout the southeast, he faithfully fills the pulpit to feed his flock. There’s no other place that our pastor feels at home like Lakeland Baptist Church. Each message that you hear comes from a tedious study of the scriptures, seasoned by prayer, and given from the heart of a pastor who sincerely loves his congregation.

Pastor Qualls and his wife, Carol, have two more children who live in North Carolina: their oldest son, Levi, and his wife, Rebekah; their only daughter, Carrie, and her husband Joseph. They also have two grandchildren….Seth and Victoria.

The congregation of Lakeland Baptist Church cordially invites you to come and hear Pastor Qualls preach the word of God in any or all of our services.

Bro. Ronnie Rogerson became pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in October of 2013. But, this was not his first experience at Calvary Baptist Church. Having been saved at the early age of seven he had drifted away from the Lord and came to Calvary Baptist in 1976. Under the Holy Ghost empowered preaching of Pastor Bobby Thomas, he repented and began in earnest to serve the Lord. He met his wife, Barbara Tripp, at the church and was married to her in 1977. Calvary Christian Academy was started at that time and also Calvary Bible Institute. Bro. Rogerson felt the call of God upon his life to be a preacher and began to attend the Bible Institute in 1979.
He became the third principal of Calvary Christian Academy for the 1980-81 school year and served under Bro. Thomas for six years till God called him to South Carolina to pastor. The he pastored Open Door Bible Baptist Church of Goose Creek, SC (http://opendoorbbc.net) from October 1986 to June 2012. Pastor Rogerson looks forward to seeing what God will do in the years ahead till Jesus comes.

Our pastor grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan. He graduated from Springfield High School in May of 1987. Seven months later he married his high school sweetheart Kim Hacker on January 9, 1988. In June of that year, he entered the United Sates Air Force where he served his country proudly for 12 ½ years. In the Air Force he was a Law Enforcement Specialist, Security Police Investigator and a Recruiter. Their oldest child Sean was born in June of 1990. In December 1991, he departed for an assignment to Woodridge RAF, England. It was in England that he was born again. On January 2, 1992, after his supervisor, SSgt Paul Simonson, explained the Gospel message to him, he bowed his head and called upon Jesus Christ to save his soul. He was baptized and joined Faith Baptist Church of Bromeswell, England, under the leadership of Pastor Greg Iehl. After a year and a half in England, the base closed down and he was transferred to Rein Main Air Base just outside of Frankfurt, Germany. In Germany, they were members of First Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Ronnie Munson. It was there, that Pastor and Mrs. Letson’s second child, Rachael, was born. In January 1995, Pastor Letson was called to preach during a Missions Conference. In January of 1996, they transferred to Muskegon, Michigan where he was an Air Force Recruiter. While stationed in Muskegon, he was a member of Broadway Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Evans. He served as Youth Leader, Bus Driver and Deacon. He preached regularly at the local Rescue Mission and filled the pulpit for his pastor, as well as other churches, when the opportunity was available. In November 1999, the Letson’s transferred across state to a recruiting assignment in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Pastor Letson recruited Health Professionals for the Air Force. They became members of North Sharon Baptist Church in Grass Lake, Michigan, under the leadership of Pastor Bobby Toler. At North Sharon Baptist Church, he preached in the local jail, was involved in the Bus Ministry and teaching a Young Adult Sunday School Class. In January of 2001, the Letson’s separated from the Air Force and moved back to Muskegon, where he became the full-time Youth Pastor. After a year and a half, Pastor Evans resigned, and the church called Pastor Letson to become their next Pastor. He served faithfully at Broadway Baptist Church in Muskegon, Michigan, for just shy of 14 1/2 years, before God called him to First Baptist Church of Brighton, Illinois, in May 2015.

His son Sean married Amanda Smith in July 2010 and now has three beautiful children. They are currently stationed in Virginia in the United States Air Force and are faithful members of Maranatha Baptist Church in Yorktown, VA.

His daughter Rachael married Lance Davis in May 2017 and they reside in Streator, Illinois where they are members of Lighthouse Baptist Church in LaSalle, Illinois.

Pastor Chad has been pastor of Southside Baptist church since October of 2014, and was on staff there as the assistant pastor and youth pastor for two years. Pastor Chad was saved on December 4, 1997 in Dublin, Ga , and was called to preach soon after. He has been married to his high school sweet heart Nicole for 18 years, and has two children Cameron, and Callie. Pastor Kennison received his formal training from Gulf Coast Bible Institute in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, and trained under some other Godly men of God.

In Christ,

Pastor John Flanders grew up in a pastor’s home.. His father, Dr. Rick Flanders, served as pastor of Juniata Baptist Church for thirty-four years and is now an itinerant evangelist. Pastor Flanders accepted Christ as Savior at age 6 and was baptized when he was 11. After some spiritual struggles in his teen years, Pastor Flanders surrendered to the Lord at age 15 and was called to preach shortly thereafter. He attended Bob Jones University and received a degree in Bible with a minor in Speech. After graduating from college, he was married to his high school sweetheart, Elisabeth, in 2001. He then served as assistant pastor (youth / music) at Mio Baptist Church for just over 4 years. God used this time in his life to confirm his call to the pastorate. Sensing this call, he moved his family to Falls Baptist Church in Milwaukee, WI in order to attend seminary at Baptist College of Ministry.

Soon, Pastor Flanders joined the administrative staff at Falls and served as academy principal and song leader for six years. Through the years, God has added five children to the Flanders family (Micah, Andrew, Caleb, Luke, and Megan). Pastor Flanders has completed graduate level classes in both Theology and Education. In the summer of 2010, God led the Flanders family to Landmark Baptist Church.

Pastor Flanders enjoys jogging, preaching, sports, and time spent with family. He is a huge fan of the Michigan wolverines and of the Detroit Tigers. His passion is to see Landmark Baptist Church become a Great Commission church with a passion for God.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  We hope you will find the answers to your questions concerning our ministry.  If not, feel free to contact us and we will get back with you as soon as possible.  We also hope to have the opportunity to meet you in person.  We would be delighted to have you as our guest at any of our services.  I’m sure you will find a friendly, family atmosphere here at Faith Baptist Church!

Your Friend,
Pastor Denver DeKeyser

My name is Bobby Utley, and I’m the pastor of New Testament Independent Baptist Church. Let me give you a brief history of our church. Initially there were 6 families who desired a place they and others could worship God in spirit and in truth. One Saturday night 6 of us men met on the property which is now the location of our church. There we prayed and received assurance from the Lord Jesus Christ that he was going to give us the land. Then by the mighty hand of God, we were able to purchase it and have since acquired additional land that joined ours. It was by faith and trust in our Saviour that we received this blessing. We prayed and asked God for the mountainous acreage behind the church so that we might build a camp meeting arbor. By God’s grace, we received it and have had many glorious services with numerous souls saved and lives changed.

Our first service was held in the old parsonage on a Sunday night in August 1969. There were 23 people who met and worshipped the Lord in that first service. While our membership has fluctuated over the years, we have had the opportunity to see many souls saved through the ministries of our church, both on the home mission field and abroad.

We would like to invite you to join us for one of our services. You will find a congregation of friendly, caring, and Christ honoring believers.

Hoping to see you soon!
Pastor Bobby Utley

I was saved at the age of 11 at Bay View Baptist Church in East Peoria Illinois. At the age of 16, I was called to preach. After high school I attended Illinois Central College then to Fellowship Baptist College out of Averyville Baptist Church in East Peoria, Illinois. After working for several Pastors and working with Youth the Lord moved us to Kentucky in the spring of 2005. After attending and serving at Grace Baptist Church in La Grange Kentucky, I felt the Lord leading us to Hopewell Baptist Church! The church had about 10 members and was about to close the doors. The Lord burdened my heart for this small congregation and the community. I took the church knowing and believing God wasn’t done with this small church. To the glory of God we have seen many saved and baptized!

I am Blessed with my wife Jenny of 22 years, and our 4 Children Michaela, Josiah, Micah and Jeremiah.

I am Blessed to be the Pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church, I would love to personally invite you to visit Hopewell Baptist Church.

Bro. Jason grew up in Warren, Michigan, and was saved as a young man at church in April 1987. He was called to preach at the age of 15. He surrendered to that call during his senior year of high school in 1995. He graduated from Hyles-Anderson College in 1999 with a degree in Pastoral Theology.

After Bible College, Bro. Jason served as a Christian school teacher and as an assistant pastor for 6 years. Bro. Jason accepted the position of pastor at a small church in Allen, Michigan, in 2005. After 6 years in Allen, the Lord moved him back into working with youth. He was an Administrator/Principle of a Christian school in northern Michigan until 2017. In November of 2017, the Lord called Bro. Jason to pastor the Friendship Baptist Church.

Bro. Jason and his wife Heather have been married for 18 years. They have two sons and one daughter. Bro. Jason and his family look forward to serving the Lord in Northwest Indiana.

We look forward to having you with us!

While many are advertising that they are NOT the church of your grandparents, we embrace the “old paths” which were the paths that saw people saved, lives changed and true revival. Our services follow a more conservative, traditional format.

Hymns are sung out of the hymnbook, and the King James Bible is the only textbook for our faith. Occasional “amens” are heard during both the singing and the preaching, and the spirit is one of liberty, not legalism.

We do not pressure anyone to give a certain amount, dress a certain way, or be someone he or she is not, but we will teach you what the Bible says, and then it’s up to you what you do with these truths.

Is this the right church for you? Maybe, IF you have a desire to learn the truth of God’s word and how to study it. While we are NOT a fancy church, we are a local body of believers striving to please God, a people who love God and each other.

If you are interested in the truth, we’d like for you to visit with us. This is truly the only way to see who we are and what we are all about.

Visiting any church for the very first time can be an intimidating experience to say the least. We hope to put you at ease so that your first visit to NAME BAPTIST CHURCH will be refreshing, uplifting, and enjoyable for your entire family.

We want you to experience godly music that will uplift you, Bible teaching and preaching that will challenge you, friendly people that will encourage you, and a place where you will feel welcome and “at home.”

Members are encouraged to join the adult choir or children’s choir to serve the Lord with song.

Audio/Visual Ministry

The mission of the audio/visual department is to honor God in ALL we do. To accomplish this goal, we make every attempt to capture the preached Word of God and the music performed for His glory. After the holidays, Family Fun Nights are held on Friday nights in January through early February with food, good movies and games.

REACHING THE WORLD:

Worldwide Missions

NAME BAPTIST CHURCH has always had a very strong outreach through missions at home and abroad. Believing that support to the Jewish nation is God’s heart, our first mission endeavor was support to Jewish missions. As the Lord brought God-inspired, Spirit-led missionaries to our doorstep, our church family was enlarged. We currently support 60+ mission outreaches through “faith promise” giving. April is our annual missions emphasis month & banquet.

Local Missions

NAME BAPTIST CHURCH also has always had a sincere desire to see our neighborhood and city evangelized. Ladies and men are active in soul winning & visitation. Our Vacation Bible School (VBS) is the highlight of the year for many at NAME BAPTIST CHURCH. The drama team works hard to provide the Gospel through skits and the Word. Puppets are a favorite for adult and children alike. Church-wide canvassing of the local area is accomplished for VBS, revival and other special events on the church calendar.
